    / FAQ

    Questions, answered.

What is powder coating and how does it differ from liquid paint?

    +

Powder coating is a dry finishing process where electrostatically charged powder is sprayed onto metal parts and cured in an oven to form a hard, uniform finish. Compared to liquid paint, it's more durable, more chip- and corrosion-resistant, environmentally friendlier (no solvents), and available in a wider range of textures and colors.

What industries does Professional Finishing serve?

    +

We coat parts for aerospace, medical device, lighting, architectural, electronics, retail fixture, and metal fabrication customers. Our work meets the tolerances and documentation requirements of regulated industries.

Where are you located and do you ship nationwide?

    +

Our Harlingen, Texas plant serves the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas, and our Richmond, California shop serves the San Francisco Bay Area. We accept parts shipped from anywhere in the United States and offer pickup and delivery throughout the Bay Area.

What part sizes can you handle?

    +

Our ovens and booths accommodate parts from small hardware up to large architectural assemblies. For oversized projects, contact us with dimensions and we'll confirm fit before quoting.

How long does powder coating take?

    +

Standard turnaround is typically 5–7 business days from receipt of parts, depending on quantity, color, and prep requirements. Rush service is available — contact us for scheduling.

Do you offer precision masking for threaded holes and machined surfaces?

    +

Yes. Precision masking is one of our specialties. We use silicone plugs, caps, tape, and custom-cut masks to protect threads, bearing surfaces, electrical contacts, and other critical features during coating.

How do I get a quote?
